Reading Passports

Developed as a result of consultation with schools and parents, the reading passport scheme was designed to encourage parents and children to read together. Each school year had a different passport theme and children were awarded stickers every time they read with an adult. Once they had collected all the relevant stickers, they were issued with a reward. Each passport theme had 3 levels of passport in it, each one requiring more reading time than the last.

Children benefitted from reading and being read to and families benefitted from spending quality time together.

Reading passports were hugely successful in our schools, but due to cuts in funding, we are no longer to administer the scheme.

We are constantly seeking new funding streams and hope that in the future we can secure funds to enable us to re-launch the scheme.
